Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026 · Updated November 1, 2026

This policy explains how Firefly Fields: Light Up (the "App") handles information on iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play). The short version: you never need an account, and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number. Your puzzles, progress, streaks and settings are stored on your device.

What the App collects

The App and the service providers listed below collect the following. None of it is linked to your name or contact details.

  • Play data: events such as puzzles started and solved, time taken, hints used, mistakes and Daily Garden streaks. We use it to tune puzzle difficulty and improve the game.
  • Device and diagnostic data: device model, operating system version (iOS or Android), language, app version, crash reports and performance data, used to find and fix problems.
  • Advertising identifier: on iPhone, the IDFA, only if you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, the IDFA is not used. On Android, the Google advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your device settings. Advertising partners use it to show relevant ads and measure them.
  • Approximate location: advertising partners may infer a coarse location such as country or city from your IP address. The App never accesses GPS location.
  • Purchases: Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) processes every payment. We only learn that a purchase such as "Remove Ads" happened, never your payment details.

The App does not use your camera, microphone, contacts or precise location, and it never reads your photos.

Reminders: if you turn on the Daily Garden reminder, the App asks for permission to show notifications and schedules them on your device for the evening. They are local notifications: no push service is involved, no data is sent to us or anyone else, and they are never used for advertising. Turn them off any time in Settings › Daily reminder or in your device settings.

Leaderboards and sharing

On iPhone, leaderboards and achievements use Apple Game Center; on Android, where available, they use Google Play Games. If you are signed in, Apple or Google shares your player name and scores so you can appear on leaderboards. There is no online play, chat or messaging in the App.

When you share a result, the App prepares a picture of the solved screen (for the Daily Garden, the garden is covered so the picture never shows the solution) and a short text (puzzle number, time and a spoiler-free summary), and hands them to your device's share sheet. Sharing from My Garden works the same way with a picture of your garden. Where they go is your choice; we do not receive them. On iPhone, if you choose Save Image, iOS asks for permission to add the picture to your photo library; the App only adds that picture and never reads your library.

How we use information

  • To run the game, including leaderboards and achievements.
  • To understand how puzzles are played and make them better.
  • To diagnose crashes and performance issues.
  • To show ads that keep the App free, and to measure them.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

  • Personalised ads (EEA, UK and Switzerland): the App asks for your consent before our ad partners may store or read information on your device for personalised ads. If you decline, you still see ads, but they are not personalised. Change your choice any time in Settings › Privacy Choices in the App.
  • Tracking (iPhone): allow or deny it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and change it any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
  • Advertising ID (Android): reset or delete it in your device settings (usually Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Settings › Google › Ads). Once deleted, ad partners can no longer use it.
  • Report an ad: if you see an inappropriate ad, tap Settings › Report an Ad in the App (or email us). We will block it with our ad partners.
  • Fewer ads: the one-time "Remove Ads" purchase turns off the ads between puzzles and the banners. Optional ads for extra hints, a second chance or double seeds stay available only if you choose to watch them.
  • Reminders: the evening Daily Garden reminder is off unless you turn it on; switch it off in Settings › Daily reminder or in your device's notification settings.
  • Game Center / Google Play Games: sign out in iOS Settings or in the Google Play Games app to stop sharing your player name and scores.

Keeping and deleting data

Everything stored on your device is removed when you delete the App. Our providers keep the data they collect for a limited time, then delete it: Firebase Analytics play statistics for up to 14 months, Crashlytics crash reports for 90 days, and advertising data under the retention periods in Unity's privacy policy. Because this data is not tied to your identity we usually cannot find one person's records, but write to us and we will help with any access or deletion request as far as we can.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data sent by the App travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect the information the App handles.

This website

The online Daily puzzle and the guides on this website need no account and set no cookies. The website uses no advertising. To count visits it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, does not use local storage for tracking and does not fingerprint your browser; we only see totals such as page views, the referring site, country and device type, never who you are. Your puzzle in progress, solved days and streak are kept only in your browser's local storage, never sent to us, and you can clear them by clearing this site's data in your browser. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above, and announce important changes in the App or on this page.
